Coplanar lines Coplanar lines are a set of lines that are in the same plane. The study of coplanar lines is done under the subject coplanar geometry. When two intersecting lines that must lie in the same plane therefore these 2 lines will be called coplanar. The definition of Coplanar is a set of points, lines, line segments, rays or any geometrical shapes are in the same plane they are known to be Coplanar. Parallel lines in the 3D space are coplanar. Skew lines are not coplanar. A set of lines drawn on the sheet of paper are coplanar. The producers dont want to fill up an  entire show with one vocal or physical type. If youre a rock singer, be  sure they can hear that, even when you are singing a pop or soul piece.  Consistency is marketable. It might be tempting to go  for it by choosing something at the edge of your technique, but that  strategy almost always backfires. When you  show up you will not necessarily be singing for celebrities right off the bat.  You have several rounds of auditions for various producers of the show before  you are even considered to perform in front of judges.  Most of the time, the call time for  these auditions is extremely early in the morning and they can last all day. Be  sure to go into the audition well rested. You may want to take along food, water and  something to keep you busy.  Each show has different audition  requirements and expectations. Before you get to the audition, be aware of everything the producers require you bring with you on the day. This might include paperwork, ID or birth certificates. Once your number is called, dont expect  to sing a full song. They want you to prepare a verse and a chorus of one song. Id suggest  having a couple more in your back pocket just in case! With my student Serena, we prepared a song that the producer didnt know but they liked how she sounded.  Luckily she had another couple of songs in her back pocket because they wanted to hear something else that they would know. Once she got her red slip to move forward, she had to wait to fill out lots of paperwork. She was then asked to come back 4 days later and to prepare 3 new songs! 5 Tips to Writing a Great College Application Essay ACT SAT Prep and College Admissions Blog Maybe writing isn’t your best subject in school. That’s okay. Here’s what you can do to make the most of your college essay even if you worry about the strength of your writing skills. 1. Don’t Stress. Do you tell stories to your friends or family? Do you have conversations where you describe things that have happened to you? Then you can write. The hardest part is getting it down on paper the first time. It can only get better from there. Just start to tell a story on the page and see what comes out. The first draft won’t be perfect. That’s why it’s a first draft. You’re seeing what’s there â€" is this story something you can use? Maybe the first thing you write won’t be the right essay topic for you, and you’ll have to try something else. Or maybe one element of the essay is useful, and the rest is filler. It’s still a step in the right direction. It’s easier to work with something than nothing. 2. Know Your Subject. You may not be a writing expert, but you’re an expert on the subject of you. The whole point of the essay is to give schools a glimpse of who you are outside of your scores and grades. So show them! You have hobbies, interests, and significant life experiences â€" these are all fodder for a wonderful essay that allows schools to connect with your individuality. Your essay should be a window into your personality and how you operate in the world. The point is not to have perfect prose (though you should review for clarity/grammar/spelling or have someone proofread for you). Write about something you truly care about and let your passion and your voice come through. 3. It Doesn’t Have to be “Serious.” It’s tempting to write about heavy topics for your college essay. But use caution when considering this path â€" only do it if you can (a) make it specific to you and your life and (b) if you can demonstrate a lesson that you have learned from the experience. Don’t just exploit your personal tragedies as a shortcut to emotional depth. Show how adversity has helped you grow and become a better person. As writer/director Nora Ephron said, “Be the heroine of your life, not the victim.” But your lessons don’t have to be Major Lessons about life and death to be effective. One of my favorite essays was a humorous essay about going to the wrong airport on the morning of a flight, and how it taught the student to be more detail-oriented and better prepared in order to succeed at her goals. 4. Focus on an Individual Incident. You are using an example from your life, not telling your entire life story. Instead of trying to touch on everything that’s happened to you from birth to senior year, pick an individual moment that conveys who you are “in a nutshell,” and describe it thoroughly. Take the readers with you through your experience so they understand what you felt in that moment and why you made the choices you made. 5.Answer the Question. If you feel yourself rambling or getting lost, go back to the prompt and reassess whether you are addressing the question being asked. Don’t worry about doing anything fancy with the style of your essay until you’re sure you’ve managed to do that. Once you have an answer, you can polish your sentences, examine your word choices, and play around with the structure to make your story really come alive. Summertime Friends Kids with ADHD often struggle with friendships during the school year. They may have a hard time picking up on social cues, initiating and maintaining conversations, being empathetic toward their peers, and staying calm when they feel frustrated or offended. As a result, research shows that kids with ADHD are more likely to have conflicts with their classmates or be ignored and overlooked by their peers. These social patterns can be hard to break especially when kids are interacting with the same group of classmates day after day and year after year. Summer provides a fresh start for friendships. Meeting new kids in a new setting is sometimes all it takes to get summer friendships off to a good start. As a parent, there are things you can do to help set your child up for success so they can make the most of their fresh start this summer. Teach friendship skills. Talk to your child about what it takes to make a new friend. Kids with ADHD often need to learn social skills, the same way that they need to learn skills in order to read or play a sport. Coach your child on ways to start a conversation, join a group, and be a good sport during games and activities. Role play these skills with your child, and prompt them to use these skills when you observe them playing with other kids. At the end of this post Ive included a few simple steps to help you get started. Encourage playdates and get-togethers. Studies show that kids who invite their peers to do fun activities are better liked than kids who dont offer invitations. So, help your child think of fun activities that they can do and help them invite their new friend along. Activities can be something as simple as going to the playground for a few minutes at the end of the day, or a bigger activity like a playdate at home or a trip to the movies. Get help from summer program counselors, educators, and coaches. Kids with ADHD often need support throughout the day to make and maintain new friendships. Talk to your childs counselors, tutors, and coaches about the skills that youre working on with your child. Let them know that your child could use some extra support when it comes to making new friends. You can even ask one or two summer staff members if theyd be willing to try out the coaching tips included in this blog. Youll likely be surprised by how willing people are to help your child make new friends. Enroll your child in activities that allow them to shine. The demands of the school year can make it hard for a child with ADHD to feel confident academically and socially. Capitalize on summers flexibility by enrolling your child in the activities that he or she feels most confident about and enjoys the most. This confidence will naturally carry over into their interactions with new friends who share the same interests. Boost confidence by building academic skills. Enroll your child in group tutoring and academic programs over the summer, in addition to fun activities. Theyll meet other kids like them and will have an opportunity to see that theyre not the only one who needs a little extra help to keep up at school. Theyre bound to enjoy and even look-up to some of these kids, and will learn that even cool kids struggle sometimes. These sessions also provide an opportunity for your child to practice conversation and good sportsmanship skills, and they can invite classmates to join them for activities outside of class. And the biggest benefit? Theyll be learning academic skills that will put them ahead when school starts in the fall. Hows that for a confidence booster! Perhaps more than any other issue, parents of kids with ADHD worry the most about their child making and keeping friends. Summertime can be a great chance for your child to hit the reset button and create strong friendships with kids who share their same interests.
